Family Projects

I just LOVE sending home family projects! We don't do homework at my school, so this is something fun for my kids and their families to do! I tired out one in October this year...and it went great! I just sent home an orange piece of construction paper shaped like a pumpkin...the rest was up to them! Here are a few examples....

Here is our darling little pumpkin patch! I HATE the cinder block walls...NOTHING STICKS!!!

So cute!

Well for January I sent home a Snowman Family Project!!

Here they are.....

I am looking for other family projects to do through out the year....so if you have any ideas I would love to hear them!! My goal is one a month..or at least every other month!

  1. Hi! I LOVE family projects, too. We have a project each month, it also takes care of the bulletin board outside my classroom. Here is what we do each month...
September-Decorate a school house (include a picture in the open door)
    October- Decorate a pumpkin
    November- Disguise a turkey
December- Decorate a tree with patterns
January- Make a snow...man, woman, baby, bunny, girl, boy, etc.
February- Decorate a heart, either make it a valentine or decorate it with things you love.
March- Decorate a kite (either a plain kite or create an animal with a tail)
April- Students are given an egg pattern, they must have a mammal, bird, amphibian, reptile, insect, arachnid, or fish hatching from it.
May- It isn't something that gets returned...they must create a memory box that is big enough for their memory book to fit in.

I have all the directions and templates. I plan on putting them up on my blog soon!
